"Silver Chestnut" , Peter Ozyumenko

Chestnut is a well-known symbol of care, wisdom, and foresight. Petr Ozyumenko, a sculptor well-known in Ukraine and far beyond its borders, has created an original bronze statuette coated with silver that represents a ripened opened chestnut.  A chestnut, covered with a shell and surrounded yet not damaged by thorns, symbolizes valour and, of course, chastity – a virtue that conquers all the temptations of the flesh symbolized by thorns, a victory over temptation. The statuette is made so well that it looks worthy and interesting from any point of view. The thorns are rounded, which makes it more interesting and safer.
