The Montegrappa company was founded in 1912 in the town of Bassano del Grappa, located on the banks of the Brenta River (Italy).
The company, created by the Italian aristocrat Alessandro Marzotto and the German engineer Heinrich Helm, is named after the famous Montegrappa mountain, 1,775 m high, which became the site of many important battles during the Second World War and is considered a symbol of Italian patriotism.
The first Montegrappa fountain pens, thanks to the exceptional skill of their creators and the originality of the design, still inspire the company's craftsmen and engineers.
Gift pens
Montegrappa pens are imbued with both the spirit of innovation and the traditions of the past. The classic design, together with the exclusivity of various models, allowed not only to conquer the local, but also to successfully enter the global market. The eightieth anniversary of the company's foundation in 1992 was marked by the release of a limited series of 1912 pens, which successfully sold all over the world. This marked the beginning of the annual production of limited collections.
One of the first fans of the brand was Ernest Hemingway, who worked during the First World War in a military hospital near the factory. The young American writer was fascinated by the luxury and elegance of Italian pens and remained a lifelong fan of Montegrappa products.
Today, Montegrappa fans include Prince Charles of Wales, Fidel Castro, Silvio Berlusconi, Bill Clinton, Sylvester Stallone and many other heads of state, the world's business elite and representatives of show business.
