A book about wine as a gift
Persia gave us its story of the birth of wine:
The story begins with King Jamshid resting in his tent. As the unspoken chosen one of fate, he was resting in his tent, watching the training of his archers. He was distracted by the picture of the fight between a snake and a bird, which took place near the tent. The large bird was losing its life in the shackles of a snake's mouth. The king ordered one of his archers to kill the snake, and he hit its head with his arrow. The bird broke free and, flying to the king's feet, dropped seeds from its beak, which very soon sprouted into the branches of a tree with many fruits.
The king really liked the juice of these trees, but one day they brought him a slightly sour juice, and he angrily ordered it to be hidden. Several months passed and one of the slave girls, the king's favorite, began to suffer from pain. Her head ached day and night, and the young woman decided to end these pains by poisoning herself. She got the royal juice hidden in the basement and drank it to the last drop. Because of the headache, she did not sleep for many nights, and after finishing it, she fell asleep for several days. When she woke up, the woman became cheerful and healthy. The news of her mysterious recovery reached King Jamshid. Since then, the juice from the fruits of the magic tree has forever been called the «royal medicine».
