Zinovy Davidov – founder of the world-famous company Davidoff, as well as the ideological mentor in creating the brand. He was born in Kyiv, in 1906, into the family of a tobacconist. When he was 5 years old, the family moved from Kyiv Podil to Switzerland. It was here that Zinovy's father, having opened a tobacconist's shop, nurtured his son's love of music for a long time. The father dreamed of a musician son, despite his bloody fingers, damaged instruments and Zinovy's inability to squeeze even a couple of sounds out of them.

The rich past was embodied in numerous principles on which the Davidoff brand was born and gained recognition. This is how the principle was created: «To enjoy, you need to love. To love, you need to find understanding. To understand, you need to have knowledge. To know, you need to start understanding the details». It matured in the young 18-year-old Zinovy, who began to get acquainted with the details of the tobacco business in Argentina. He did not manage to work in a local bar for a long time, after which he began his journey as a tobacco factory worker.
Another famous principle: “If you want something done well, do it yourself,” was reflected in the work of the Davidoff company, coming from the distant 1970s. At that time, Zinovy was forced to sell the store to Ernest Schneider, although he retained the status of owner. Davidoff regretted for a long time that he could not preserve the integrity of his entire family’s business. In addition, his only daughter, Sofia, was allergic to tobacco.
But even then, the Davidoff brand had become synonymous with elegance, luxury, and perfect taste. Even in his millionaire status, Davidoff continued to adhere to old habits: living in modest city apartment conditions with his family, while his wife Marta feeds her husband Ukrainian borscht and dumplings.
Since 1985, the range of brand offerings has been expanded to include vodka, cognac, glasses, watches, leather accessories, shirts, and perfumes (Davidoff Cool Water and Davidoff Relax).
